Bio Branch Pico Kits

Our Bio Branch Pico Kits offer a great opportunity to set up an aquascape for the space and budget conscientious reefer. Using the micron reef bio branch in your aquascape provides more than aesthetic appeal, it also provides additional surface area for cycling your tank and managing nutrients. The internal structure can also provide additional habitat for desirable inhabitants such as copepods!

Getting your Bio Branch Ready

Congratulations on your choice for an appealing and functional product to include in your aquascape. Getting ready to add to an existing, or established tank, is similar to starting a new tank. Follow the simple steps below for each application, it’s as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!

1 - Rinse with clean fresh water and gently shake dry

2 - Assemble your aquascape to fit your aquarium

3 - Cycle your aquarium as normal, be sure not to provide a light source until cycling process is complete.

Adding to Established Tank:

1 - Rinse with clean fresh water and gently shake dry

2 - Soak bio branch in fresh water change water from the established tank for at least 48 hours

3 - Mount your bio branch pieces to your existing aquascape. Tip: consider mounting your coral fragments to the bio branch pieces before adding to your tank!

  • You can use any reef safe adhesive you prefer. We have had great success using gel superglue. This works great underwater when you add some to the base and you break the bead of glue up where you want to glue the piece down and move it around to work water into the bead of glue. This helps speed up the hold of the glue!

  • Yes! You can mount fragments of corals to bio branch pieces to create "Branches" of corals that typically do not grow branches. Alternatively, you can mount corals at the base to allow them to grow up the branches, though this will take longer than adding multiple fragments of coral along the branches.

  • Bio branch is made with PETG plastic, commonly used for all sorts of in-tank propeller guards, cages, feeding aids, traps, and other useful products. We have been using the bio branch technology in our tanks for several years with great success and you can too. Reef tanks are delicate ecosystems and can change for any number of reasons, always remember to keep up maintenance with frequent water changes, water testing and supplementation, and paying attention to changes in your slice of the ocean! We want you and your reef to be successful and look forward to hearing your success stories, reach out through our contact page for any questions or concerns.
